My name is Jenna, and I’m always in search of fresh ideas and big feelings. I aim to be a storyteller both in my work as a writer and in everyday life, so this is a place for me to share my experiences, stories, photos and day-to-day musings.
I’ve always called California home, having grown up in the suburbs of the East Bay and studied journalism further north at California State University, Chico. I now live on my own in Alameda, a lovely urban island full of Victorian homes, windsurfers and tree-lined streets, for which the city was named.
I work in content marketing at Viator in San Francisco, which feeds my wanderlust and adds lines and lines of new destinations to my bucket list. In 2015, I stacked up enough PTO and got my very first passport stamp (and second and third and fourth) to see Ireland, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. Needless to say, I’m still working on accruing more PTO, but had the absolute time of my life on these trips and now vow to use that passport much, much more.
I’ve worked in newspapers, book publishing and at magazines such as VIA, Yoga Journal and Diablo. My time is spent freelancing, watching A’s baseball and heading out on weekend getaways to other corners of California and beyond. I admit to drinking too much coffee and owning entirely too many books, and I am always pushing myself to take more leaps of faith.
